HEMPFIELD REC CENTER AND TENNIS AWARDS
Hempfield Recreation Center was named 2008 Central Penn District Non-Profit Organization of the Year. HARC's Director of Racquet Sports, Wilson Pipkin, received the Middle States Central Penn Tournament Director of the Year 2008 and the Middle States Central Pennsylvania President's Award 2008. Hempfield Area Recreation Commission is very committed to the USTA and the programs that are offered. The staff at Hempfield Rec is conscious that tennis is the Lifetime Sport and encourage players of all ages and abilities to start or re-enter the game.
Get involved in the “Sport of a Lifetime”. Welcome to tennis at Hempfield Rec. We have a variety of programs for all different levels of play - beginner to advanced and from juniors and seniors. We offer socials where you can meet and make new friends. And if you enjoy more competitive play, try one of our USTA teams or compete in the annual Club Championships. If you want to take your game to the next level, come to a drop in clinic or call for a private lesson.
Wilson Pipkin, Racquet Sports Director, came to the facility in 1985 and with his staff has built Hempfield Rec program to be one of the most comprehensive programs in the Middle States area. We take pride in offering social, competitive and instructional programming for all ages. If you're looking for a game or maybe a 4th for doubles it's only a phone call away.
