Programs - Youth

YOUTH DANCE
(Ages 7 & older) 10-week session. Register early; classes fill. Late registrations will be allowed if space permits.

Dance Recital: All students have the option to participate in a dance recital at the conclusion of the second session (second session for continuing students only). An additional fee for costumes will be collected by the dance instructor for all students that choose to participate. Costume prices vary based on instructor's selection.

  • JAZZ & GYM - Elements from gymnastics and dance are blended together. Students will learn to combine tricks, balance work and tumbling with dance technique. For all levels of dance experience.
  • HIP HOP - A dance style that incorporates upbeat modern dance steps and music.
  • BALLET - Learn this classical dance form characterized through grace, precision of movement, flexibility and ballet technique. Participants are required to wear tights and ballet shoes.


TAEKWON-DO
TaeKwon-Do is an ancient Korean martial art of self defense. Includes basic training, patterns, breathing exercises, self defense, and sparring. TaeKwon-Do also builds better self confidence, self esteem, and overall better physical fitness. Mike Louie, 5th DAN black belt with more than 19 years instructing experience. Wear comfortable clothes. Uniforms are available for purchase from instructor. Ages 6 and up.

INTRODUCTION TO JUDO
Sponsored by Lancaster Judo Club. Judo is a sport steeped in tradition, self discipline, and the concept of mutual benefit and welfare. At Lancaster Judo, we respect these traditions. Judo involves various techniques, such as throwing the opponent, armlocks, and holddowns (similar to a pin in wrestling). Ages 8 and up. FREE Judo Demos!

LITTLE AND JUNIOR HOOPERS BASKETBALL
Coed players are introduced to the game of basketball through practice drills and organized scrimmages. The focus is on learning and experiencing the game in a fun, non-competitive atmosphere. Players will be grouped into teams and assigned a parent volunteer coach. Concentration is placed on practicing ball handling, dribbling, passing, and shooting, not on winning! The first 4 weeks of the program will be 1-hour team practices. The remaining 4 weeks will be scheduled scrimmages against the other teams in the program. A time clock will run, but no scoring will be kept. A detailed schedule will be given out at the coaches' meeting and distributed thereafter to all participants and their parents. Your assigned coach will contact you the week prior to the start date scheduled for each session.

Ages 11-14. Volleyball fundamental and instruction is provided by Coach Gary Dimm and his staff. Coed Beginner and experienced player instruction will be offered. Pre-registration is required. Space is limited. (10-week session)

YOUTH GOLF CLINIC
This after school clinic offers expert instruction on golf basics for youth. The focus is on golf etiquette, proper set-up, and swing fundamentals. All equipment is provided or you may bring your own. Ages 8-12.

COED FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Ages 6-12. (Ages of players are determined as of March 1st.) Boys and girls will learn the fundamentals of the sport in a non-competitive league. Players are randomly assigned to a team based on their age and size. Children are given the opportunity to experience all positions on the field. 5 vs.5 format. 10 players max. per team.

STRICTLY SKILLS BASKETBALL
(Grades 6-11 ) Strictly Skills Basketball Clinic provides some of the highest small group basketball instruction in Central PA. The staff consists of college level coaches to ensure that players are being taught by experienced and professional instructors. Class size is very limited to maximize the instruction given to each player. The classes are coupled with a digital, interactive out-of-class developmental program so that players can continue to improve their game outside of class time. This clinic focuses solely on skill development, and providing players with everything they need to reach their highest potential. Girls grades 3-12 (ages 10 and under must bring own ball). Limit 14 pitchers/14 catchers per session. Pitchers are required to bring their own catchers. Both pitcher and catcher must each pay the fee (unless the catcher is a parent).
