Message from the Director
If you have been coming to Hempfield Rec Center for any length of time you have probably noticed that change is a constant. Our management staff reviews our programs and services on a regular basis to look at ways we can improve our organization and be more
efficient.
We have recently announced that we will add two Les Mills® fitness programs. Body Pump® and Body Flow® will be added to our group exercise class listings. This national program will enhance and complement the variety of fitness programs currently offered. We have more than 60 fitness classes that are free and included in the cost of a membership. When the decision was made to contract with Les Mills®, staff evaluated the benefits of adding this fitness program and how these new programs would fit into the already full schedule. The addition of these new programs required an adjustment in our schedule, meaning some programs will be discontinued. We are sorry if your familiar programs have been replaced, but hope you will find a program from our diverse selection to meet your fitness needs.
Looking back on all the upgrades we have made to our facility and organization, the decisions made to change are always based on improving our services to our members. As we move forward, we hope our members keep in mind that we have a first-class organization and a reputation for quality programs and facilities and we didn't get to this point without change.
We are excited to unveil a newly refurbished gym that people will not recognize. We already have programs and leagues planned with many
groups waiting to use it. I invite you to take a walk to the other side of the building and see the new and improved gym.
We are pleased to announce another collaborative effort with Hempfield School District by taking the lead role in managing the Hempfield Ski Club trips through Hempfield Rec. This is another example of community organizations working together to serve the public.
