Aquatics - Welcome
Welcome to the Hempfield Area Recreation Commission Aquatic Center. We are family oriented in both our facility layout and programming. Our facility consists of three pools, one indoor and two outdoor. The indoor pool is open year-round and is accessible to our physically challenged members.
The indoor pool is a 6 lane, 25 meter facility. During all seasons of the year, HARC offers a wide variety of programs that are conducted in our indoor pool. Lap lanes are available during most open hours and are generally in constant use. We offer a full range of water exercise classes ranging from low-impact shallow water exercise to high intensity hydrofit exercise classes. Twenty classes or more are offered weekly, Monday through Sunday!
We offer a full range of swimming lessons which include Swim America pre-school and school age programming, aqua-tots and private lesson arrangements. We schedule throughout the year a series of competitive swimming stroke clinics and host a summer competitive swim team. On the average, there are between 40 and 50 hours of family/open swim time per week.
Additionally, we offer American Red Cross training in CPR, First Aid, AED and Lifeguard Training. The courses are scheduled periodically throughout the year.
Our outdoor facilities consist of a feature pool (pictured) and a wading or kiddie pool. These facilities are open Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Facility hours Monday through Friday are 5 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
